Some of These lunch boxes are being recalled
Costco still sells these lunch boxes (litle different model)
So, I assume not all the gell packs are toxic.###
The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission has issued a safety recall notice for insulated lunch boxes with freezer gel packs from California Innovations Inc., of Toronto, Canada. The gel packs contain diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol which can leak out of damaged freezer gel packs, posing a poisoning hazard if ingested by children or adults.
Consumers may also return the lunch box set to Costco for a full refund or may receive a $5 cash refund for the gel pack only by contacting California Innovations (toll-free: 800-722-2545 e-mail: ci-recall ‘at’ ca-innovations.com).
