Costco’s executive members receive a 2% reward certificate about 3 months before we renew our membership. I didn’t receive my reward gift Certificate this year. There was a possibility that I received the certificate, but I threw it out carelessly. On my last Costco shopping, I talked to customer service. They confirmed they mailed the certificate out over a month ago. So, I requested another one. The process was quick and painless.
I finally received my certificate in the amount of $56.88. I need to get paid $60 in order for my executive membership to pay for itself. $56.88 is pretty close, but I am not enjoying any perks for being an executive member.
In the past, executive members were allowed into the warehouse one hour before the regular business hours. I could enjoy that perk – now that we are dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.
I think I should downgrade my membership. I will shop even less this year because of the pandemic of 2020.

I received my credit card rewards certificate but there is no dollar amount. It has void totally covering the check.
I tried cashing it but they will not cash it, I understand,
I hope you will be proactive and get your money. People rarely get “screwed” by big companies. The system usually takes care of the customers. Find the right channel and communicate.

I’m not sure if that’s possible. It says on the certificate in bold – Redeemable only at Costco. They would also like to see your membership card (I may be wrong, but pretty positive).
I was struggling to make ends meet prior to covid, covid hit and like everyone had to stay home. As I’m sure is the case with most it took a little over two months for the unemployment debit card to appear, without any customer service or help, I had finally payed the Costco credit card off after finding my wife racked it up without saying anything, with 0 balance no activity and poor credit ive been cancelled. During a world wide pandemic? Wtf? Really? Wow, should I have racked up a huge bill and filed bankruptcy? Poor classless timing

If you downgrade, you will have to pay for your membership I think? Which is $60.00. With your current certificate, your membership is costing you $3.12.

With this certificate, my membership is $63.12.
I pay $120/yr for Costco executive membership. Minus $56.88 = $63.12
If I downgrade, I will pay $60/yr for regular membership.
I need to receive $60 in order for my executive membership to pay for itself.
To receive $60 in reward, I’ll have to make qualified purchase of $3000 at Costco. I spend close to $3000 every year at Costco. Maybe I will hold on to the executive membership one more year and see how it goes.

Go to customer service and tell them the Executive Membership was not worth your time/expense. They will refund you $60 and change your membership to a regular one.
