NOTE: The people who deliver Costco appliances are not Costco employees. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think most, if not all, major retailers hire third-party delivery companies. I think it is possible that one delivery company can work for multiple retailers. When the delivery companies do poor job, customers will direct their complain to the retailers, not the delivery companies.
I bought a refrigerator from Costco. Below is the delivery process.
- When I ordered online – the website asked for my delivery address and phone number.
- I left them my cell phone number, so I would receive the call when I’m at work.
- 2 days before delivery – I received an email from Costco. The email contained a phone number just in case if I need to change my delivery date. The email said that I would receive a phone call that would tell me about the delivery window.
- 1 day before delivery – they called me around 4:30 PM. It was an automated message informing me that my delivery window is between 7 am – 11 am. It also said that they would call me around 30 minutes before arriving at my house.
- Day of the delivery – They came to my house at 9 am, but without calling me 30 minutes before-hand.
- They hauled my old refrigerator & installed a new one with a water line in about 30-45 minutes
My delivery process was smooth and painless. People were pleasant. I hope your experience will be as pleasant as mine.
Final note: Appliance delivery can be a nightmare if your delivery people are young and don’t give a dang. I think I was a little lucky.
My frig delivered Oct 18. Received no call 30 minutes before delivery. I was somewhat prepared with ice chests and ice packs. Two men (both Hispanic – one spoke good English and the other didn’t say much but understood English). Both men polite and easy to communicate. One wore a mask the other didn’t. Bracket installed in baseboard to attach to GE French Door frig to prevent falling forward (didn’t know this about this model frig. All requests met. My questions were answered. Happy with this delivery.
Thank you for sharing your positive experience. I believe that an overwhelming amount of people have positive (normal) experiences compared to people with bad experiences.
Angry people are likely to get online to vent.

My experience with Costco delivery is that it’s awful. They often don’t notify you in advance of the delivery, and never by phone as they say they will. They arrived with our item, 5 hours early, so we were not prepared. We have had delivery and installation from Costco, Home Depot, and Lowes. Lowes was the best and
they were not good. Costco is a distant last. We will never use Costco for this again.
Why there is no update to my tracking information when my wife’s appliance order did not delivered today?
Called and called… but to no avail! Sad and disapointed.
What a nightmare, waiting for the 4th delivery day & Time. No delivery No call, wait time to check on status is 1hour and a half, AGAIN. ALLyou get is lip ? service. The installer is/was wasting time to install. Very agrivating at the least.
I am sorry to hear that. Delivery service is hit-or-miss. You can only hope that they don’t suck. Costco and other department stores are likely to use the same delivery companies in your area.
I hope things will get resolved soon so you can move on with your life.
They will deliver refrigerators and stoves to Alaska, Hawaii, and Porto Rico, but not to Williamsburg VA. Shame on you!
I tried to order a refrigerator and was informed that they will not deliver to my zip code. I live only 12 miles from a COSTCO warehouse and a zip code to which they will deliver. I live in a suburban neighborhood where there are a fairly large number of COSTCO members. I had to order through The Home Depot to get the exact same refrigerator and had to pay $50 more because COSTCO would not deliver to my house. I am thinking about dropping my membership.
Same problem here. They will deliver 12 miles to the north of me and 35 miles to the south but not to me. These 2 towns and connected to the highway that goes right by me, go figure…
Had appliances delivered in Alaska through a third-party contracted by Costco. One arrived damaged but they are simple-to-replace parts. I called Costco and after more than 4 hours on hold and being hung up on 3 times, I finally got to Concierge and then to LG. LG says they are covering it under the warranty as cosmetic (?) even though it was damaged in transit. I asked for replacement parts. They said a technician has to come. A week later and they finally called to confirm what I told them – no local repair persons. They asked for proof of purchase. Why now? So I uploaded it and I am still waiting. I just need new handles and one new outer door, all of which are simply screwed on and the door is plugged in. The delivery crew even removed these items and reinstalled them to get them through the door and it’s in the manual so it’s all very simple. Disappointing.
Oh boy… that’s my fear every time I order an appliance. We seem to get random results. I am sorry you have to experience that.
I purchased a refrigerator June 24, 2020 with an estimated delivery date of July 9. On July 13 I received an email indicating that it would be shipped that week and that I would be sent another email when it shipped. Today is August 11 and I have not received any further communication. The on line information indicates the same thing it has since the order was made….Order received….Anticipated delivery date July 9…
UPDATE: Called COSCO to ask about the order. Said it would ship in 3 days and would provide information at that time on where it was being shipped from. 3 days later said it was back ordered till Sept. 9. No information on when or where it would ship from.
Placed an order for 4 appliances from Costco over 3 weeks ago. The delivery date has come and gone. So far, ZERO communications about how much longer we will have to wait. Next time, I’ll take Costco’s price list to a local appliance dealer who will match the price and deliver the same week.
Did you get your delivery yet? I’m having an issue with even getting the delivery scheduled at all! They leave a recorded message with info to contact them and said they sent 2 emails…..(nope they didn’t ). The contact info they left on my vm doesn’t work either ?♀️
Apparently Costco delivery in Colorado is way different than in Michigan. I ordered a range on Dec 5th – they delivered a damaged range on Jan 16th – here it is Feb 6 and still no replacement – no communication (unless I call them) and my elderly parents only have a range with 2 burners they can use – not a very nice Christmas gift – and so disappointed in Costco…
Oh God.. what a hassle. I am sorry this is happening to you. Costco uses third party delivery company. When I had my appliances delivered, I had my fingers crossed and mentally ready for nightmare scenario such as yours.
Any appliance delivery like this is a gamble. You may have a sucky contractor making delivery for you. It would be nice if Costco would jump on this case and take care of you.
Delivery is one thing, installation is yet another topic. When I had my stuff delivered, I gave them $40-$60 tip to the team leader BEFORE they started to work. “This is for lunch. Thank you so much,” I said… With that, I could only hope they will do good job in my house.

I purchased a new dishwasher from Costco in late August and had it installed in September. The entire process was smooth and painless. I know a lot about appliances, dishwashers in particular. I watched them install the dishwasher and had a few questions. They were very patient with me and not at all condescending because I’m a woman. When I need more appliances, I’ll only be purchasing them from Costco.
