I have always been happy with costco and costco online. That all changed recently when we attempted to purchase a GE Profile 5.6CuFt Profile Slide-In Front Control Gas Range with True Convection and WiFi Connect in Stainless Steel Item # ‌1195163‌$ 1,599.99 online. We live in North Carolina near Greensboro. The personnel that came out to deliver the range are also the same as the installer. They seemed quite inexperienced and were not familiar with copper pipe for natural gas (it is within code here in NC) and were not sure they could hook it up. It turns out the range had corrosion on the knobs and front like it had been exposed to salt or seawater. We refused delivery and then had to call to schedule another delivery. There was no call or contact rom costco until I initiated the call. Today when the range came the delivery personnel said they were unable to install it and they were unable to take the old range away. This was because of copper piping. I had previously told them about this and they had been out before and knew about it. We refused delivery and I am on hold with customer service trying to get my money back. I would be very caution buying any appliances from costco online.

      Hi

I am sorry to hear that. I feel powerless when it comes to having major appliances delivered and installed. Costco hires delivery companies, and delivery companies are notorious for their bad serviced. We can only place order and keep our fingers crossed. I bet Costco is doing the same thing – keeping their fingers crossed that their delivery companies will do good job.

(Correct me if I’m wrong) But, a lot other appliance vendors also contract out delivery services.

So, for example, if you buy a refrigerator from Home Depot – there is a possibility that your refrigerator will be delivered by the exact same people who delivered your range you bought from Costco.

It would be nice if Costco is more proactive, and have a better system to take care of customers like you. Mm.. sorry to hear that. That would ruin my day.. few days…

      Hi there,

You are absolutely right about others doing the same thing. Therefore, I did what I should have done and bought from a local appliance store and had a installer/plumber install the appliance.

It just sucks… there must be a better way. We shouldn’t have to order an appliance and cross our fingers that we don’t get screwed. We’ll pay you. Take our money and do a good job, please.
