      Project Completed

I don’t have a sofa in my apartment.
I never needed a sofa in my life, because I never sit around.

Now I feel like sitting and relaxing at times.
Yeah, it will be nice to sip coffee while sitting on a sofa or a love seat.
When I have guests, I am embarrassed to give them my WWF folding chair (picture below).

I never had guests in my apartment before.  Now I started to have visitors occasionally.  I think now is the time to have a sofa.

It will be a lot of work to make room for a sofa.  Maybe it’s not even possible. I will see what I can do.

I don’t think I will buy a sofa from Costco, because Costco sells expensive stuff. I am going to get my sofa from Jennifer’s Convertibles.  My original plan was to find the cheapest one in the store.

      Updates

      Looking for used:
I shall look at newspaper & pennysaver for a cheap sofa.  I’ll take anything as long as it’s a (fake) leather & 6 feet long.  I don’t like fabric, fuzzy sofa.  My sofa must have leather or fake leather.

      August 20, 2009 – Delivery Charge:
I learned that a normal price range to deliver a sofa is $70 – $160.  So, when I see a $399 sofa, I need to look at it as a $599 sofa. (with tax,  delivery, & tip)

      August 21, 2009 – Budget:
I came up with the official budget for this project.
      Sofa – $400.00 – $500.00
      Tax – $35.00 – $40.00
      Delivery – $150.00
      Tip – $20 ($10 x 2) (delivery)

      My estimate – $700 – $800 (My original estimate was $400.00)

      August 28, 2009 – Painful reality 🙁
With my budget, I am able to buy a good looking sofa that will make me happy.  But they are just too big for my apartment.  (This is painful).

      1. I must look for a smaller, uglier sofa.
      2. This means my sofa is for temporary use.  If I move out to a bigger place, get married, & etc; I am likely to trash this sofa.

      ** August 28, 2009 – Sofa ordered ($739) **
I bought a leather sofa at Jennifer’s Convertibles – I paid $739.xx.  It will be delivered in 5 days.  I need to get a few $10.00 bills ready for delivery tips.

I paid more so I can have a smaller sofa.  At 6 feet, I think it’s still too big for my apartment (for a single living).  But, I failed to locate a smaller sofa (70"-75") that would satisfy my taste at the same time.

      September 3, 2009 – Sofa Delivered
Everything went smooth.  This completes the project.

Delivered (shown with cheap ottomans from ebay)

      September 4, 2009
I ordered 2 (cheap) ottomans from ebay.  I hope they are OK.

      More to buy:
I need to buy some kind of lamp and side table…

My thrifty & humble kitchen table.
See the chairs? These are the only chairs that I offer to my guests.

      * I don’t feel the need to update my kitchen table yet.  Food taste just the same.  If I have guests coming over to eat "often", then I’ll think about getting new dining set.  Until then, I am perfectly happy with what I have.

      * Update. (Oh boy, I was afraid this will happen).
I am seriously thinking about replacing my dining table set.  I think those WWE folding chairs must go.
