      * Music players on my website are youtube videos (with pictures hidden).  So, if you cannot hear YouTube video for some reason, you will not be able to play music as well.

About my song of the day:
I listen to music when I work (8+ hours a day).  I put my entire hard drive in random play (about 24,000 songs).  Naturally, I would bump into songs I like.  And I replay that favorite song again and again throughout the day.  Then the music will be embedded in my brain for a day or two.

Hence, I call it my song of the day.

      Past Song of the Day’s

Below is Song of Day’s from the past along with my chit-chat.

Burgers and Fries by Charley Pride
I listened to this song many times this week. It makes me to stop and think about the time I was a teenager. I thought the Summer would never end. We ate burgers and fries, we made love at drive-in movies, we walked on the beach, and we bought a 44oz Big Gulp and made it last the whole night. I thank God I have some memories of it. Good songs like this take me to special places.

Love of a Lifetime by Firehouse – Do you guys remember the early 90’s? It was the time when Rock music was slowly dying. And bad boys cried last time with love songs like this… Then we stopped hearing Rock music on radios.. everything is dance music now. Me? I still grow my hair below my shoulders to keep the spirit alive. I listened to this song about 40 times at work today.

Titles: ‘Walkin’ After Midnight’ and ‘I’m alright’. Madeleine Peyroux is younger than I am and I actually like her music. That means I think she is extremely talented or she has an old soul. Yes she sounds like Billie Holiday.

If you love me (Really Love Me) by Edith Piaf.
I didn’t watch the movie ‘La vie en rose’. But, I guess this story was told in the movie. The song was written for her lover. She sang this song for the first time in 1949 in New York. Next month, her lover took a plane ride from France to New York to be with her and got killed in the crash. She released this song several months later. I like this song a lot.

Songs like this remind me I need to hurry up and find true love 🙁

Kay Starr’s version (English). Starr is 89 years old, still alive.

      Esther Phillips’ version

Brenda Lee’s version – Brenda is still alive, only 67 years old. She was super young when she was popular. When she tourd UK in the 1960’s an unknown band, The Beatles, was her opening act. A legend right here.

      December 29, 2011:
Disguises by Roberta Flack Featuring Donny Hathaway (March 1980). This is just a good song. Donny Hathaway committed suicide after recording 2 songs. Flack released the album a few months later.

Another Song: Make it Rain by Michael Burks.
What can I say? Man gets mellow sometimes. I’m doing OK.

Blossom Dearie – Plus Je T’embrasee
I know it’s Christmas time, but I wanted to pay respect to Blossom Dearie.

On more: Bossom Dearie – Doop Doo Dee Doop
I think I like Peggy Lee’s version better, but Blossom is always cute.
