I went to Costco after work on Wednesday for some quick pickup.
And I found this nice comforter by Pacific Coast Feather Company (650 fill power).
$99.89 is a good price. This purchase may pay for your Costco membership.
I’ve been using 700 fill power comforter by Laura Ashley for 5 years. Last few months, I’ve been looking for another comforter with less fill power. After research, I decided Pacific Coast was the best bet. Then I found the exact comforter I was going to buy. I would have paid much more.
This comforter is better and lighter. My older comforter was too warm. I am very satisfied.
* NOTICE: It’s priced at $99.89. That $.89 means It’s a special deal. They may disappear quickly. Good luck.
Re: Costco Shopping – September 4, 2013
I bought the Laura Ashley 700 fill goose down from costco about three years ago and it has lost all the fluff in the middle squares. Holding it up to the light I can see how the feathers have diminished and become little blobs of nothing sitting in little lazy tufts in the pockets, despite the fact I fluff the comforter daily. The edges are nice and fluffy though. At the price I paid I wish it had lasted longer. I wondered if my mistake of buying a King size for a Queen size bed was the problem, causing weight to pull/press the down in the middle while letting the sides hang loosely. I contacted Costco and they were willing to take it back, but I can’t imagine bringing my three year old bedding in for a return. Good to hear this Pacific one is a good one. I may have to look for it in my neck of the costco woods.

I think we have the exact same Laura Ashley comforter (700 fill power). I bought mine 5 years ago (blog). I find my comforter too warm. I was hoping I would lose fluffiness on this comforter so it will be not as warm. I believe in never touching the comforter with bare skin, and never washing it. Instead, I would Sun dry the comforter once a while (which I never did). I never washed my comforter. I fluffed my comforter about twice last 5 years. I use extra thin (light) duvet cover (I sandwich my comforter between 2 sheets). Of course, I will never lay or sit on the comforter. My comforter is still fluffy and still too warm. That’s why I had to buy a new one with less fill power. I hope this one will serve me like Laura Ashley did.
I see your logic on king size comforter on queen size bed. I don’t have expert knowledge on this… but I see what you mean.
Anyway, it sucks your comforter got flat. I hope you will enjoy your next comforter for many years.
700 fill power was too warm. I did try 550 fill power 3 months ago (from Pacific Coast) and I returned it because it was too light (cold). 650 is so far the best. I wish there was 630 fill power.

Re: Costco Shopping – September 4, 2013
Ha ha ! Yes, Americans do fluff their nests, all in the name of rest and relaxation. :O)
I haven’t washed this one as well, and my husband does sit on top of it at times, something of which I don’t do for the very same reason–it will tamp down the down! Oy! I bought the King thinking I would have two things: beautiful draping down the sides of the bed and assurance that I will not have the comforter pulled over onto the other side leaving me in the cold in the middle of the night. Both goals were met, but not ideally.
On payday I’m going to costco and will keep my eye out for a new one. Then I have to convince myself to shell out the money! Thanks for reading! (and writing!)

I saw Queen size comforter at Costco website last week. But, now I don’t see queen size anymore. They only have twins and kings.

I hope you find it.
*My queen size comforter was $99.89. That $.89 was hinting me that this was something special.
Re: Costco Shopping – September 4, 2013
Finally . . . I bought the queen size comforter. It seemed so small in the package I feared it would not be warm enough or large enough. Having a king size comforter (especially the Laura Ashley one) all this time I’ve been dealing with a ton of unnecessary weight. =D It turns out to be a perfect size, now the trial will be how well it keeps us warm. The lighter weight is super good.
How has your comforter been for you? Living in the northwest the temps get a little cool in the evening so I’m hoping this works. The price was $99 also.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Good for you.
I really like mine. Fill-power is just right for me. I like to use (high quality) crisp cotton sheets with my comforter. Good stuff. I hope you enjoy. I am happy for you.
