Visiting Long Island, NY - And Costco

Dec

I visited Long Island, New York.  Went to Costco, too, of course.  Below is my show and tell.

Day 1 (Thursday)

I had almost no sleep.  I woke up at 1AM, took a shower, and drove to LAX by 4:00AM.  I flew to Baltimore first to change plane.  Baltimore was absolutely beautiful looking down from the sky.  Baltimore airport was beautiful and inviting.  I arrived at Long Island past 5PM.

Day 2 (Friday)

We woke up at 3am (12AM in California time).  At 6AM we took a ferry ride to Connecticut.  We went to Stamford to watch Maury Show!!   Some of you know how much I enjoy Maury Show.  It was a crazy good time.

After Maury Show, we drove to Long Island (no ferry. we drove around) - I didn't visit New York City.  I was not interested in visiting a big city. Also I was very tired.

Day 3 (Saturday)

We started the morning at Dunkin Donuts - then checked out garage sales.  The air was cold.  I saw ice on lawns. I found some silver jewelry and some vintage Maxwell House coffee mugs.

Then we went to Costco.  The first thing I've noticed was recycle kiosks by the front entrance (picture below).  I didn't buy anything at Costco.  I just walked around and enjoyed looking at Christmas items on display.

We went to a fish and chips place for dinner.

Day 4 (Saturday)

I ate a bagle for breakfast and a slice of New York pizza for lunch.  4 days flew by fast.  I had so much fun.  I got dropped off at Long Island airport to start my journey back home. By the way, I have never seen an airport that empty.  (see picture)

End

It was an amazing experience.  Now I am waiting to see myself on Maury Show.  You ARE the father~!! Hahaha.

Thanksgiving Turkey 2016

Dec

This was my 7th straight year I baked Thanksgiving turkey alone.  Just like last year, a friend dropped by for a short time.  But, I was home alone in most part. I live stress free life. I was invited to a couple of places. But, I didn't want to drive 2 hours to see my family .  And I didn't want to go where I was not able to truly relax.  A lot of people talk about holidays and stress.  I have absolutely no stress.

First, I baked the turkey upside down for an hour.  Then I flipped the turkey and baked until it was done.  I like this technique.  I think it was the best turkey I have ever made.  I can't wait for the next Thanksgiving.

Red Lobster buicuits (from Costco) were  very good.  Turkey, stuffing, organic cranberry sauce, and turkey baking racks were also from Costco.

32 Degrees Men’s Mesh Performance Heat Tee

Costco is currently selling long sleeves tee shirts by 32 Degrees Heat.  With $2 instant rebate through November 27, they are only $6.99 each.  Kids' sets are also on sale. They are high quality products.  They look good.

They are supposed to be undershirts.  But they look good enough to wear out side.  Especially women's shirts look freaking hot.

$6.99 is cost of a Hanes long sleeves. To me it was no brainer.  I bought 5 of them.  I hope they last.

*They are also available online, with free shipping.

Underwear Drawers

TMI.

Here's a picture of my underwear drawers. I put on dark colors in the morning, and whites at night (after shower). I have roughly 65 pairs of underwears.

Below that is a picture of my sock drawers.  I wear black socks when I go out, to match dark colored shoes, and wear whites at home.   Same goes with my T-shirts.  I wear dark t-shirts when I go out, and change into white t-shirt as soon as I come back home.  Bleached white linens (pima cotton) give me cozy feeling.

Costco Shopping (10/4/2016). Green Pan

I saw more Christmas items at Costco today.

I am sick of buying new frying pans.  They all claim to be non-stick. But, they never last long enough.  My last non-stick ceramic pan lasted about 4 months and it started to stick like glue.  I regret not buying from Costco.

I bought a pair of pans today for $39.99.  What caught my attention is that they have dimples - they call it "Dotted Surface" that optimally distributes oil.  I took it home and tried it.  It seemed to be working (see picture).  Another thing I like about thess pans is that their bottoms are perfectly flat so they sit flat on my glass top range. That means my pans will no longer wobble and shift oil to one comer.   If you own glass top range, you feel my frustration. I am happy about that design.  I'll have to use them for a several months to see how they hold up.  Anyway, Costco has done it again... another exciting product that will improve my life style (at reasonable price).

Oh, and that huge bag of spinach?  I finish that in about a week.  I bought a Vitamix blender around January 2012 at Costco.  I still use it twice a day.  I still recommend everyone to buy Vitamix and use it.

Bracelets

Big picture is located here

Here are some of the (chain) bracelets I bought at garage sales. I am finally putting them on eBay one by one. I need more time to get better at eBay.

When I say "I enjoy garage sales" people don't seem to understand what it's about.  Anyway, it takes certain skills to be good at garage sales.  I am obsessed about building that skill.

They are all silver.  One is gold filled. One is gold over silver (with Onyx).

The one on top - I don't know what kind of gemstone it is, but I had to buy it.  I couldn't stop looking at it.  I still look at it.

Sorry, I've been lazy - Update

Hi, how are you?  Time flies.

Sorry, I've been lazy.  I am doing very good.

I've been enjoying garage sales a lot.  I have a lot of stuff (including silver jewelry) that I need to start selling.  I have dedicated 1 bedroom for garage sale and eBay selling.

At one garage sale, I bought a pair of silver Tiffany earings for $60.  I knew I could sell them for $150.00.  Indeed, they are being sold on eBay for $150. But all sellers are located outside of The US.  I learned that eBay prohibits sales of Tiffany products by US sellers. That sucks.   If you are my long time visitor who can trust me AND would like a pair of Tiffany earings, contact me.  I will sell it to you for $120.  (free shipping).

My work is going well.  I enjoy my house. I am healthy.

I've been saving money to buy a (used) car, but lately I've been thinking about investnig that money in real estate, flipping houses. It sounds exciting to me to risk it all.  Since California is super expensive, I'll have to invest somewhere cheaper.  Anyway, it's fun to think about it.

I haven't seen much Christmas stuff at Costco.  It's September already.  There should be Rudolph, Santa, and... stuff like that.   But, I only see the same ribbons for over a month.  We have less than 4 months left for holiday season to end.  But I don't see Christmas signs anywhere.  Hm...

Thanksgiving is 11 weeks away.  I am excited about massive eating I will enjoy.  There will be some heavy duty Costco shopping before that.  I will buy fancy snacks, chocolate, wine, shrimps, exotic cheese, turkey (of course), etc, etc...  God bless America.

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I will keep in touch.

Enjoy Costco shopping.
