But, we needed a place for Costco shoppers to say hi.
I hope you enjoy the stay. Have a nice day.

Costco Executive Membership (2%) Rebate Check

Jan
21

This is my Costco executive card 2% rebate check this year.
$104.99 means I spent $5,249.50 at Costco last year.

Basic membership is $55.00/year
Executive membership is $110/year.

So, I need to receive $55.00 rebate check to cover my executive membership fee.  With this rebate check, I am getting paid $49.99 to be an executive member.

But, this is not the only check I will receive this year.  There is Costco/AmEx back check coming up.  I have about $270.00 there.

Costco employee who didn't care

Sep
04

I picked up a box of yogurt today at Costco.  I got to the check out line and put the yogurts on the belt.  A female Costco employee picked up my box of yogurt and found the bar code on the bottom of the box.

Then she turned my yogurt box upside down and put it on my shopping cart so her partner would scan it.  I couldn't believe what I was seeing.   I was pretty pissed.

"Yogurt should not be upside down.  Thank you.  Sorry.."  I said.

She turned my yogurts right side up as we exchanged fake smiles.

I thought it was pretty messed up.  She's not stupid.  She knew what she was doing.  Basically she didn't care.  This was the first time in many years walking out from Costco feeling mis-treated.  It was a little thing she did that ruined my perfect image about Costco.

I still have a sour taste about today's experience.

I don't think she will work at Costco for too long, not with that kind of rotten attitude.

You don't flip a man's yogurt cup.  You just don't.   If you do, we will whine about it.

Chobani Pulls Yogurt Cups, Says No Recall

Sep
03

FYI: Costco sells Chobani yougurts

###

Greek-style yogurt maker Chobani has reportedly asked various grocery retailers in the U.S. to pull its yogurt cups from shelves over “isolated quality concerns” stemming from customer reports of foul-smelling, sour yogurt, which some customers have alleged sickened them.

Harvest Wreath Recall (letter)

Aug
23

Harvest Wreath is being recalled.

I bought it last month (July 30, 2013 Costco Shopping), and I haven't opened the package yet.  I would like to keep it, but I don't know anything about mold and how serious it is.  So I shall bring it back.

No more clipping coupons - It is official

Aug
05

It's official, this answers our question.

(officially) We do not have to clip coupons anymore.  You can just show your coupon books without clipping them.  Additionally, you don't have to have coupon book with you.  If you have a smart phone, you can show coupons from your mobile app.  Your cashier will honor the coupon you show on your mobile app.

* At this point, I will not be surprised if a lot of Costco warehouses apply coupon discounts to every shoppers automatically, without asking for coupons.

Until this point, officially, we were supposed to clip coupons.  That's why they say ""No more clipping coupons"

Civic Duty

Jul
12

I served jury duty today.

I brought my reading material to pass time.

It was a drunk drive case.  I know three close friends who escaped death after getting hit by drunk drivers (2 separate accidents).  I got dismissed.

Typical Lunch (at work)

Jul
10

This is how my typical lunch looks like at work. They don't smell, so I can eat at my desk (compared to some people eating hot dish).

Chicken, cheese, yogurt are from Costco.

I rarely eat out so I can save money.  I am saving to buy a car next Christmas (2014)

Costco Shampoo - 8 Months Rotation

Jul
07

I shampoo every day, rarely twice a day.  And I have long hair, way below my shoulders.

I dated my bottle of Kirkland Signature shampoo when I opened it on November 7, 2012.  Today is July 7, 2013.  So, a bottle of Costco shampoo should last you 8 months.

The secret is to use just the amount you need.  I am not saying you should use less than you need.  I use plenty amount of shampoo.  I just don't use more than I need.

Little Giant Ladder - Price Comparison

Apr
29

I bought a Little Giant Ladder from Costco for $179.99.   I didn't bother to compare price at that time.  It was my educated guess that it was the best price in town.  I did price check after I brought it home, just to make sure and to make me feel good.

The exact model name is -  Model 17, Type 1A

On their official website, they sell these for $259.99 with free tax and shipping

Amazon sells them for $249.99 plush tax and shipping

Costco sells them for $179.99 with free shipping (if you want them shipped).  I bought mine at my local Costco warehouse.  The ladder will fit in the back seat of normal 4 door sedans.

This is an incredible deal at $55 savings.  One purchase of Little Giant ladder pays for Costco membership.  And there is no shipping hassle. Honestly, I don't know why some people don't have Costco membership.

Once these ladders are gone, it will take long time to see them again at Costco.  Go get yours now.  Enjoy.

No Costco Shopping - Again

Apr
20

I had a short day at work today (Friday). I came home around 4pm.

I drew up a shopping list - I was planning to go to Costco, Wal*Mart, ROSS,  Target, and Home Depot.

I enjoy shopping alone.  I weaseled out from a female friend who wanted to come shopping with me. Why ruin a perfect shopping night with a girl, I figured.  I guess I haven't met a true love.

I ate a light snack and took a nap before going out.  In my dream I shopped at a super Costco where toilet papers come in 70 rolls pack.

When I woke up it was 8:30pm - I slept for 4 hours.  Costco was closed!

So... no shopping, no girl.  :(
